The Love Affair Continues

If you know me at all, or just met me briefly, it's probably not breaking news when I tell you I struggle with food in New England. The vegetables are bland and rarely fresh. The local fare is heavy and uninspired. The lack of variety can be down-right frustrating. Thankfully, I found the oasis that is Panera (note: not a local eating establishment, but one of the few chains that broke its way into the frigid landscape that is the NE eating scene).

And, Panera, you've won me over again!!

New favorite soup: Butternut Squash!! It's like a warm hug in your belly!
Old favorite salad, back again: Fandango!!!
Favorite Tea: Mango Ceylon

Not to mention delish coffee and comfy hangouts! Love you, Panera!

Getting Laid Off

Good things about no longer working at the TV stations:

* No longer having to navigate the ski-jump ramp, changing three lanes of traffic and nearly getting rear-ended all to make that suicidal turn into the parking lot
* My pre-work hours no longer filled with old re-runs and crappy television. More time for crappy television at night
* The menu folder has been officially retired! Hurray!
* Heavy rains used to mean having to canoe my way down Morrissey Blvd.
* Bring on the snow! No worries about blizzards trapping me at work and forcing a night at the scary Ramada
* That Saturday shift sucked
* Remember when you had every Saturday and Sunday off work? I don't, since it's the first time that it's happened in my professional career!

Bad things about no longer working at the TV stations:

* Too numerous and painful to list

It Ends Tonight

T-minus 12 hours and counting until Thee Last Show of Thee Ten O'clock News. If you live in the area, watch. If you don't, let me just preview it with a little nugget of trivia: did you know Julie Emry was the first female anchor for TTON?

P.S. - What joy it is to be able to lead with a story from Oregon on your last (maybe forever) day of producing. You can take the girl out of the PacNW...
