On Blogging
Blame it on Sarah Vowell, but I've been thinking a lot about this blog...and blogging in general lately. I know that in the past few months my posts here have been sporadic and bare...at best. I've been busy! Busy exploring, busy re-evaluating, busy catching up on sleep when I'm not on the go. But my latest read has me realizing neglecting this is leaving gaps in my history. When looking back on history there are plenty of different ways to glean information. The one tool that seems to be the most effective for actually gaining any sort of personal perspective (at least in my latest read) was from the diaries and journals left behind. Those personal writings help set tone and convey emotion that you just can't get from a public document. I find that it's those little tidbits that make this read so interesting.
While I am far from a past president or even some sort of historical figure, my blog is my story. Neglecting it means I'm not sharing..and I'm really trying to get better at that. So it's time to tell more stories and continue recording my history.
